General Info
The Merit Award Scheme was introduced in our College to reward excellence and high standards of students in all school related activities.
Merit points can be awarded by any teacher to a student or students who have made a special effort in the many tasks and duties assigned to them in school. We see it as very important that merits awarded would be for the effort made and not necessarily for a grade achieved.
Merit Certificates are awarded at four stages within the scheme at 10 merits, 20 merits, 35 merits, 50 merits, 80 merits and 100 merits.
The certificates are presented on Awards Day in May and each recipient receives a special prize.
Students who achieve 50 merits are entered in to the Principal's Roll of Honour Book which is on display in a prominent location in the College. Since its introduction in 2002, there are currentlyy 25 students in the Roll of Honour Book.
Parents can check the number of Merits awarded to their son or daughter in the student's College Journal.
